Clay Lathe
Pottery without the mess. Shape one side of a pot and the lathe spins it into a full vessel — then turn it in the light and pick a finish.

Shape a profile and spin it into a smooth, stylised vessel with a ceramic finish.

A stylised surface for fun — not watertight, food-safe or ready for 3D printing. There is no 3D model download; the profile exports are exact. Finishes are drawn procedurally.
4 handles, height 0–1, widest radius 0.30. 513 vertices, 960 triangles. Shown with a decorative inner wall.
Controls
- Drag the teal handles on the profile, or type each handle's height and radius in the list.
- Insert adds a handle above the one you choose; Delete removes it. Up to 32 handles.
- Turn and Tilt move the view; Spin turns it slowly. Finish changes the glaze. Export saves the exact profile as JSON or SVG.
The rules
- Heights must go strictly upwards from 0 to 1; radii run from 0 to 0.6. A drag can never reorder handles.
- Straight lines join the handles, and the profile is spun into 64 slices. The bottom is closed; the top stays open.
- When every radius leaves room, a thin decorative inner wall is drawn; otherwise the vessel is shown as a solid shell.
Scoring, saving and limits
No score — this is a studio. Try matching one of the starting shapes from memory.
Your profile and finish are kept on this device.

Questions
- Why can't I drag a handle above the next one?
- Each handle stays between its neighbours so the profile never folds back on itself.
- What does solid shell mean?
- Some part is too narrow for an inner wall, so the vessel is drawn as a single surface.
- Can I 3D print this?
- Not from here — the exports are the profile only, and the shape makes no claims about strength or watertightness.
