Consecutive Trail

A number path puzzle. Every cell gets one number, and each number must touch the next one — beside it or diagonally — so 1 to the end forms a single unbroken trail.

Fill in 1 to 16 so each number touches the next, sideways or diagonally.

Solved on this device: 0 of 12. Each board has exactly one answer, checked by a solver.

6 of 16 placed.

Controls

  • Focus a cell with a tap or the arrow keys and type a number; type two digits quickly for 10 and above. Backspace or Erase clears it.
  • Turn on the brush to place the smallest missing number with a tap; it moves on to the next missing number each time.
  • Cells around the focused number are highlighted as places its neighbours in the trail can go. Check, Hint, Apply hint, Undo and Reset are always available.

The rules

  • Each number from 1 to the cell count appears exactly once.
  • Consecutive numbers must touch: up, down, left, right or diagonally.
  • Given numbers (bold) cannot be changed. On the first six boards both ends of the trail are given.

Scoring, saving and limits

Solved means every number is placed once and each touches the next; the game checks the rules, not a stored grid. A hint that reveals a number marks the run as assisted.

Your numbers, undo history and solved boards are kept on this device only. Download a backup to move them.

Twelve full-rectangle boards (six 4×4, six 5×5) with no holes, each checked by a solver to have exactly one completion.

Questions

Do diagonals count as touching?
Yes. Any of the eight surrounding cells counts.
What if two gaps look interchangeable?
They are not — each board has a single completion. Look at how far apart the given numbers are: a gap of three numbers can only bridge cells at most three steps apart.
What does the brush do?
It always places the smallest number not yet on the board, so you can lay a stretch of the trail by tapping cells in order.
