Fold Studio
A paper-folding puzzle. Each fold lays one half of the sheet over the other — upside down and back-side up. Plan the folds so the faces left on top match the target exactly.

Fold the paper in half, again and again, until its top faces match the target.
FreeOn this device
4 × 4 sheet after 0 of at most 4 folds; the target is 4 × 2.
Controls
- Choose a fold from the list to preview the result, then press Fold to make it.
- Every fold is reachable with Tab and the arrow keys in the list; Undo takes back one fold and Reset unfolds the sheet.
- Your paper and the target are shown side by side; small numbers count how many layers are stacked in a cell.
The rules
- Folds are half-folds along the middle of the current sheet, left/right or top/bottom, and only across an even number of cells.
- The moving half is mirrored onto the other half: its stacks land on top in reverse order, each layer turned over to show its back.
- Symbols keep their real orientation, so an arrow folded over now points the other way. At most four folds; no diagonal folds.
Scoring, saving and limits
Solved when the sheet is the target's size and every visible top face matches. Any sequence of folds that gets there counts.
Your folds and solved puzzles are kept on this device only. Download a backup to move them.
Twelve original patterns, each generated from a real fold sequence that is replayed in tests. Paper cannot be stretched, torn or creased diagonally.
Questions
- Why did the colour change when I folded?
- The folded half turns over, so you now see the back of that paper.
- Why is a fold missing from the list?
- Only even spans can be halved exactly. A sheet that is three cells wide cannot fold left onto right.
- Does the order of folds matter?
- Often, yes — layers stack in the order they arrive, and only the top layer shows.
