Sea Search
A classic hidden-fleet game. Place your ships, then take turns firing at each other's waters. Sink all four enemy ships before yours go down.

Hide your fleet, then find and sink the enemy's before they sink yours.
FreeOn this device
place your 3-cell ship (across).
Controls
- To deploy, tap a cell to place the next ship from there; Rotate (or R) switches across and down; tap a placed ship to pick it up. Auto-place fills a legal fleet for you.
- In battle, tap a cell on the enemy waters — or move with the arrow keys and press Enter — to fire.
- In the two-player mode, a hand-off screen hides both fleets between turns; press Ready once the device has changed hands.
The rules
- Each fleet is one 3-cell, two 2-cell and one 1-cell ship, straight, never overlapping and never touching — not even diagonally.
- One shot per turn, hit or miss; firing at the same cell twice is not allowed.
- When a ship sinks, its cells and the water around it are revealed. The first side to sink the whole enemy fleet wins.
Scoring, saving and limits
A match is won or lost; no score is kept or shared.
Your match in progress is kept on this device only. Download a backup to move it.
The computer is given only its own shots and their answers — never your hidden fleet. Its standard level counts the ship positions that still fit what it has seen; that is a heuristic, not exact probability.
Questions
- Why do misses appear around a sunk ship?
- Ships can never touch, so every cell around a sunk ship must be water. The game marks those for both players.
- Do I get another shot after a hit?
- No. Turns always alternate, hit or miss.
- Can the computer see my ships?
- No. The code hands it only the public record of its own shots, which is tested.
