Home Inventory Booklet Builder

List your rooms, then the items in each one with their model, serial number, purchase date and price. Tick the photos that belong to each item and add purchase records with a receipt photo. The booklet gives every room its own section, a room index at the front and an item index at the back with the page each item is on. The index entries link to their pages in the PDF.

Serial numbers are kept exactly as typed, leading zeros included. A purchase date or price you have not entered prints as "Not recorded", never as zero. Photos stay on this device, and you choose how many go into the PDF.

How to use the Home Inventory Booklet Builder

  1. Pick a layout: Caption-led grid (two items across), Image-led layout (a large photo beside each item) or Narrative spread (one column).
  2. Add your rooms, then your items, choosing each item's room. Add model, serial number, purchase date and price where you know them.
  3. Upload photos under Photos, then tick the photos for each item. Add purchase records for an item and pick its receipt photo.
  4. Use "Photos in the PDF" and "Include receipt photos" to make the file smaller; the check before Create tells you how many megabytes of photos the PDF will carry.
  5. Choose Create document, check the pages and the indexes, then download the PDF. Save the project file to add to it later.

Example

A 10-item booklet for 4 rooms on A4: a cover, a room index, a section for the living room, kitchen, main bedroom and garage with each item's model, serial number (such as 00482913) and purchase details, 3 purchase records, and an item index.

What it does not do

  • It is a personal list. It does not value items, add up totals, or show who owns anything, and it is not an insurance document.
  • Photos and receipts come only from files you choose and stay on this device.
  • Dates and prices are printed as you enter them; nothing is looked up or estimated.
  • PDF and project file only.
  • Up to 250 pages and 500 entries in any list.
