Meal Planner and Shopping List Builder

Enter your meals for the week and the ingredients each one uses. The builder prints the week's plan and a shopping list grouped by your own categories, adding up each item across the meals.

Amounts are added only when the units match in kind: grams with kilograms, millilitres with litres. Grams and millilitres of the same item stay on separate lines. Whatever is in your pantry is taken off, but every item stays on the list, so nothing you need disappears.

How to use the Meal Planner and Shopping List Builder

  1. Choose a template: a week grid, day by day with notes, or a large week for the fridge.
  2. Enter the first day of the week and how many people you are cooking for.
  3. Add ingredients with an amount and unit for one cooking of the meal, and a category such as Dairy or Meat.
  4. Add meals with a day, a meal slot and a name, and tick the ingredients each one uses. Set portions on a meal that serves a different number of people.
  5. Add what is already in your pantry, with amount and unit.
  6. Choose Create document, check the pages, then download the PDF. The CSV download is the shopping list.

Example

A week for four with porridge, spaghetti bolognese twice and pancakes for six: the list shows 1 kg of spaghetti with 500 g in the pantry and 500 g to buy, and milk as 600 ml and 375 g on separate lines.

What it does not do

  • It does not check allergens, diets or nutrition, and nothing on the list should be read as safe for any condition.
  • It does not convert between weight and volume, or between cups, spoons and millilitres.
  • There is no recipe library or price list. Meals and ingredients are your own.
  • Up to 250 pages and 500 entries in any list.
