Charts and Averages
Read real bar charts, then work with the numbers behind them — totals, the range, the middle value and the mean. Every bar sits exactly on a gridline, so reading it is never a guess.

Set your country and age — change
Setting an age keeps the questions at the right level for that age. It does not lock anything — you can still try any topic, at any age, in any order. Levels are a guide only, not a curriculum.
Your age is not saved anywhere. Your country is remembered only if you have switched saving on.
Saving your progress
Nothing is being saved. You can practise as much as you like — when you close the tab, the session is gone.
Three words that sound alike and are not
- Mean — add them all up, then share the total out equally between them. It is the one most people call “the average”.
- Median — put them in order, then take the one in the middle. Putting them in order first is the whole thing. The middle of the list as it was written is almost never the median.
- Range — not an average at all. It is the gap between the biggest and the smallest, so it tells you how spread out they are.
Reading a chart is half the skill
Look at the numbers up the left-hand side first and work out what each gridline is worth — they do not always go up in ones. Then follow the top of each bar across to the scale. Getting that right matters more than the arithmetic afterwards, because a perfectly calculated answer from a misread chart is still wrong.
School levels
School levels are a guide only. They show where a skill is usually taught in each country and are not taken from, aligned to, or endorsed by any curriculum authority. Your school may cover it earlier or later.
