Number Bonds

Find the missing number: 7 + ? = 10. Bonds are the facts that make everything else quicker, so they are worth knowing without having to work them out.

Set your country and age — change

Setting an age keeps the questions at the right level for that age. It does not lock anything — you can still try any topic, at any age, in any order. Levels are a guide only, not a curriculum.

Your age is not saved anywhere. Your country is remembered only if you have switched saving on.

Which bonds?

This is a starting point — the questions adjust as you go, and you can change it any time.

Getting the most from it

  • This is your first bit of algebra. 7 + ? = 10 is an equation with an unknown in it. Solving these comfortably makes later algebra feel familiar rather than new.
  • Bonds to ten come first. Once those are automatic, bonds to 20, 100 and 1000 follow the same shape.
  • Careful which number you give back. The total is right there on screen, and it is easy to answer with it. The box wants the part that is missing.

School levels

School levels are a guide only. They show where a skill is usually taught in each country and are not taken from, aligned to, or endorsed by any curriculum authority. Your school may cover it earlier or later.
