How to use this calculator
- Enter a whole number of 2 or more.
- Read its prime factors and the exponent form.
How it works
The number is divided by the smallest possible primes repeatedly until only 1 remains — those divisors are the prime factorization.
Worked example
360. = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 5 = 2³ × 3² × 5.
Common mistakes
- Stopping at any factors — keep going until every factor is prime (e.g. 4 = 2 × 2).
- Forgetting 1 isn't prime and isn't listed as a factor.
Frequently asked questions
What's exponent form?
