How it works
Power, current and voltage are linked by W = V × A, so current = power ÷ voltage, power = current × voltage and voltage = power ÷ current.
Worked example
1,200 W at 240 V. = 5 A. And 5 A at 240 V = 1,200 W.

What's the formula?
Amps = watts ÷ volts for DC or resistive AC. For AC motors, also divide by the power factor.

Does this work for three-phase power?
