Receipt Builder

List what the payment was for, then enter the amount actually paid. The receipt never copies the item total into the amount paid: a part payment shows the balance still owing, and Paid in full appears only when nothing is left to pay.

If you add an ABN, it is checked against the published ABN check-digit rule. Create the PDF, check it, then download it and a CSV of the lines. It is made in your browser and is not uploaded or stored by Zerdly.

How to use the Receipt Builder

  1. Pick a layout: compact table, detailed breakdown, or a summary with items in an appendix.
  2. Enter your business, who paid, the receipt number, the payment date and how they paid.
  3. Add the items the payment covers, with quantities and prices.
  4. Enter the amount paid now and any amount paid earlier against the same items.
  5. Choose Create document, check the receipt under View your document, then download the PDF and CSV.

Example

A receipt for 150.00 paid by bank transfer towards a 429.95 music-lesson invoice, with 200.00 paid earlier and 79.95 still owing.

What it does not do

  • It is a plain receipt. It does not calculate or show GST and is not a tax invoice or a tax statement.
  • There are no shop or retailer designs; it records your own sales only.
  • A logo can be added only after confirming you have the right to use it.
  • Up to 250 pages and 500 entries in any list.

Documents are made in your browser and are not uploaded or stored by Zerdly. Check the finished document before you use it.
