How to use this calculator
- Pick a scenario (e.g. form submission → email the team).
- Add nodes from the palette — start with a trigger, then logic and actions — and reorder them.
- Click Run simulation to score the workflow and see what worked, what's wrong and what's missing.
How it works
Each scenario has a rubric: the right trigger, the required actions and some recommended extras. The simulator checks your built workflow against it deterministically — points for the correct trigger, each required action, sensible order and good additions — and explains every result.
It's a learning simulator. There are no real apps, OAuth, webhooks, servers or AI calls — the nodes and data are fake, so you can experiment safely. It's not affiliated with n8n, Zapier, Make or any provider and never runs live automations.
Worked example
Form → email. “Form submitted → Format data → Send email” scores in the Excellent band; dropping the trigger, or adding a second one, is flagged with an explanation.

Does this use AI or send my prompt anywhere?
No. It runs entirely in your browser using rule-based checks — your prompt is never uploaded or sent to any AI model. Still, avoid pasting passwords, API keys or private data into any tool.
Does it connect to real apps or run my automations?
No. It's simulation-only — fake apps, fake data, deterministic feedback. Nothing connects to real services and nothing runs live.
Is this n8n / Zapier / Make?
No, and it's not affiliated with them. It mirrors the trigger/action concepts to teach workflow design safely.
