How to use this calculator
- Enter the hole diameter.
- Optionally set the explosive density (defaults to ANFO at 0.8 g/cm³).
- Press Calculate for the loading density.
How it works
Charge per metre of a fully-coupled hole = (π/4 × diameter²) × explosive density. It tells you the kg of explosive per metre of column.
Worked example
115 mm hole, ANFO. ≈ 8.3 kg/m.
Frequently asked questions
What density should I use?
ANFO is ~0.8 g/cm³; emulsions and heavy ANFO are higher (1.1–1.3). Use the product's actual density.
