How it works
Flight line spacing = footprint width × (1 − side overlap). Closer lines give more coverage but more flying time.
Worked example
200 m footprint, 65% side overlap. Lines 70 m apart.
Frequently asked questions
More overlap or wider spacing?
More overlap (closer lines) improves reconstruction but costs flight time and battery. 60–70% side overlap is a common balance.
