How it works
Overlap = (1 − photo spacing ÷ footprint) × 100. Mapping usually targets ~70–80% front overlap.
Worked example
150 m footprint, 30 m spacing. = 80% overlap.
Frequently asked questions
How much overlap do I need?
Typically 75–80% front and 60–70% side for clean photogrammetry; more over forests, water and uniform surfaces.
