How to use this calculator
- Enter cigarettes per day, pack size and price.
- Optionally add a number of years to see the long-term total.
How it works
Daily packs = cigarettes per day ÷ pack size; multiply by price and by 365 for the yearly cost.
Worked example
15/day, 20-pack at $40. ≈ $10,950 a year; about $109,500 over 10 years.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting prices rise over time — the long-term figure is a conservative estimate.
- Counting per pack instead of per cigarette when the pack isn't 20.
Frequently asked questions
Does it account for price rises?
No — it uses today's pack price, so the real long-term cost is usually higher.
