How it works
Grams of pure alcohol = volume × ABV% × 0.789 (alcohol's density). One AU/NZ standard drink is 10 g; a US standard drink is 14 g.

375 mL at 4.8%. ≈ 1.4 AU standard drinks.
Common mistakes
- Assuming a can or glass equals one drink — strength and size vary a lot.
- Using this to judge whether it's safe to drive — it isn't a blood-alcohol reading.
