How are frequency and period related?
They are reciprocals: frequency = 1 ÷ period. A 0.5-second period is 2 Hz.

Wavelength = wave speed ÷ frequency, so faster waves or lower frequencies have longer wavelengths.
What's the period of mains power?
At 50 Hz it's 0.02 s per cycle; at 60 Hz it's about 0.0167 s.
