Cover Letter Builder

Start from a blank letter with short prompts in square brackets, such as which role you are applying for and one piece of work that matches it. Replace each prompt with your own words; the builder will not create the letter while a prompt is left in.

The letter uses the same three looks as the Resume and CV Builder, so the two match. Create the PDF, check it page by page, then download it or a Word copy you can keep editing. It is made in your browser and is not uploaded or stored by Zerdly.

How to use the Cover Letter Builder

  1. Pick a look: compact, spacious or editorial.
  2. Enter your name and contact details, then who the letter is for: the person, the employer and their address.
  3. Enter the role you are applying for. It becomes the subject line.
  4. Replace every [bracketed prompt] in the letter with your own sentences. Each new line starts a new paragraph.
  5. Choose a closing, then Create document, check it under View your document, and download the PDF or the Word file.

Example

A one-page letter from Jordan Example to Alex Sample at Example Community Services, applying for a Project Coordinator role in three paragraphs, closing with Kind regards.

What it does not do

  • It does not write the letter for you or add skills, experience or qualifications; every sentence is yours.
  • The employer is shown only as the person and organisation you are writing to, never as a letterhead or logo.
  • The Word file may reflow differently from the PDF.
  • Up to 250 pages and 500 entries in any list.

Documents are made in your browser and are not uploaded or stored by Zerdly. Check the finished document before you use it.
