Study Timetable Builder

List your subjects with a weight and an optional weekly target, then the times you are free and the times you are not (school, sport, work). The builder cuts your free time into study sessions of the length you choose, with breaks between them, and never places a session over a fixed commitment.

Sessions are shared out by weight: a subject with weight 3 gets three sessions for every one a weight-1 subject gets, until it reaches its weekly target. Anything that does not fit is printed as unallocated workload, so you can see it rather than lose it.

How to use the Study Timetable Builder

  1. Choose a template: the week at a glance, day by day with notes, or a large week.
  2. Add your subjects. Give each a weight (1 if left empty) and, if you like, a weekly target in minutes.
  3. Add availability: a day of the week (or a date) with a start and end time. Tick Fixed for commitments you cannot study through.
  4. Set the session length and the break between sessions.
  5. Add exam dates for any subject; they are listed with the full date.
  6. Choose Create document, check the pages, then download the PDF. The CSV download lists the week's sessions and fixed times.

Example

A week of 45-minute sessions after school with a 10-minute break: Mathematics weighted 3, Chemistry and English 2, history 1, around netball training on Monday and Wednesday, with the history target that did not fit shown as 405 unallocated minutes.

What it does not do

  • The plan is one repeating week. A dated availability row is used on its weekday.
  • Free time that runs past midnight needs two rows, one each side of midnight.
  • It does not know how hard a subject is or how long revision takes. The weights and targets are yours.
  • Up to 250 pages and 500 entries in any list.
