Datum and Projection Job Sheet
Records survey job datum, projection, zone, epoch, geoid and units for crew reference and handover.
Job reference
Everything stays in your browser. Getting the datum, projection and units agreed up front is what stops a job ending up metres out.

How to use this calculator
- Fill in the job name and the horizontal/vertical datum, projection, zone, epoch and units for the job.
- Add a geoid model and any notes.
- Copy or download the job sheet so the whole crew works to the same reference.
How it works
It assembles your entries into one consistent reference block — only the fields you fill in are shown.
Agreeing the datum and projection up front is the single biggest thing that stops a job ending up metres out (e.g. mixing GDA94 and GDA2020, or the wrong MGA zone).
Worked example
A typical WA job. Horizontal GDA2020, vertical AHD, projection MGA Zone 50, epoch 2020.0, units metres, geoid AUSGeoid2020 — captured once, shared with everyone.
Frequently asked questions
Does this convert coordinates?
No — it records the reference frame for a job. For converting between datums use the dedicated datum/grid converters.
Is this official course material?
No. It is free study support mapped to surveying course levels — not official North Metropolitan TAFE content or advice. Always follow your lecturer and the official assessment brief, and check your own working.
