How to use this calculator
- Enter the total flight time the job needs.
- Enter the usable flight time per battery.
- Press Calculate.
How it works
Batteries needed = total flight time ÷ usable time per battery, rounded up, plus a spare. Usable time leaves a safe landing reserve.
Worked example
75 min job, 18 min batteries. 5 batteries (6 with a spare).
Frequently asked questions
Why use 'usable' time, not rated time?
Always land with a reserve (often 20–30%). Plan on usable time, not the optimistic rated figure.
