How it works
A geohash encodes a latitude/longitude point into a short text string by repeatedly bisecting the world into cells; each extra character makes the cell smaller and the location more precise.
Decoding returns the centre of the cell the geohash represents.
Worked example
9-character geohash. 57.64911, 10.40744 encodes to u4pruydqq… and decodes back to the same point within a few metres.
