How to use this calculator
- Pick the direction (lat/long ⇄ grid).
- Enter WGS84 coordinates or ITM easting/northing.
- Press Convert.
How it works
Converts between WGS84 latitude/longitude and Irish Transverse Mercator (ITM, EPSG:2157), the modern grid for the island of Ireland.
The legacy Irish Grid (TM75) uses different false origins and a slightly different datum, so its coordinates will differ.
Worked example
Dublin (53.3498, −6.2603). Converts to about 715,830 m E, 734,697 m N in ITM.
Frequently asked questions
Is this ITM or the old Irish Grid?
This uses Irish Transverse Mercator (ITM), the current standard. The older Irish Grid (TM75) has different offsets.
