KDP Interior and Journal Engine

Choose a trim size, then stack page blocks: a title page, 117 college-ruled pages, 30 Cornell notes pages, 40 dot-grid pages. The builder lays them out with the inside margin on the spine side of every page, numbers the pages if you want, and pads the book with blank pages to exactly the page count you set.

Trim sizes and minimum margins follow the figures published for KDP paperbacks, checked on the date shown in each warning. The file is a starting point for your own upload; Zerdly cannot tell you whether a printer or marketplace will accept it.

How to use the KDP Interior and Journal Engine

  1. Pick a layout: Compact (patterns fill each page), Spacious (a date line on every page) or Section-led (each block opens on a right-hand page with its own title).
  2. Enter the trim width and height in inches, or choose a standard size from the list below, and the page count.
  3. Set the inside (spine) and outside margins in millimetres, and choose bleed if any art reaches the page edge.
  4. Add page blocks: a type, a style and how many pages. Add a title or prompt text where the block uses one.
  5. Choose Create document, check the left and right pages in the viewer, then download the PDF.

Example

A 6 × 9 in, 120-page field notebook: a title page on the right, 117 college-ruled pages at 7.1 mm, and two blank pages added at the end, with page numbers at the outside corners.

What it does not do

  • The book interior only. Covers are made in the separate KDP Cover Builder.
  • Margins below the published minimums are warned about, not blocked; you decide.
  • Ruled spacing is exact in the PDF. Print at 100% (Actual size) to keep it.
  • No company profile or logo fields.
  • Up to 250 pages and 500 entries in any list.

Documents are made in your browser and are not uploaded or stored by Zerdly. Check the finished document before you use it.
