Name Badge Builder

Add the attendees by hand or import them from a CSV file, and every one gets a badge with the event name at the top, their name in large type and their role in a coloured band. Badges print in the same order as your list.

Names are fitted to the badge but never below the smallest size you choose. By default every name prints at the same size, the size the longest one needs. These are name badges only: there is no QR code, barcode, photo ID or access-control mode.

How to use the Name Badge Builder

  1. Choose a template: compact 90 × 55 mm badges (ten per A4), spacious 95 × 70 mm badges (eight per A4), or a calibrated custom grid for your own badge size.
  2. Enter the event name, then add the attendees with their role, or import them from a CSV file with a name column and an optional role column.
  3. Choose the smallest name size, whether roles are printed in the band, and optionally add the event's logo or your organisation's logo.
  4. Print as sheets to cut out, or one badge per page for a badge printer or print shop. On a part-used sheet, choose the badge to start at.
  5. Choose Create document, check the badges, then download the PDF. Print at 100% (Actual size).

Example

Eleven attendees of a symposium on 90 × 55 mm badges: speakers in blue, delegates in rust, organisers in green and volunteers in purple, every name at the same size, Siobhan Fitzgerald-MacAulay on two lines.

What it does not do

  • No QR codes, barcodes, photos, access levels or security features. A printed badge is not proof of identity or entry.
  • Names print in the site's plain sans-serif font; there are eight band colours, and the role is printed in words so colour is never the only signal.
  • Pre-cut badge inserts may not match this grid: use the calibrated template and its test page first.
  • Up to 250 pages and 1000 entries in any list.
