Seating Chart Builder
Add your guests and tables, then seat people by dragging them onto a table or choosing the table from a list. Move tables around the room plan with the mouse or the arrow keys. A guest can only ever be in one seat, and the number of guests without a table is always shown.
Create document draws the room to a standard scale such as 1:100 with every table, its chairs and its count of guests against seats. A table with more guests than seats is flagged in red. After the plan come the posters: an alphabetical find-your-seat list and a list by table.

How to use the Seating Chart Builder
- Pick a layout: Board-led overview (plan and posters), Sequential cards (a card per table with numbered chairs) or Annotated overview (numbered tables beside notes).
- Enter the room's width and depth in millimetres, then add tables with their seats, shape and position in metres from the room's top-left corner.
- Add guests one by one or import a CSV file with name, group, table and seat columns.
- In the seating panel, drag each guest onto a table, or press a guest and then Seat here (you can also choose the table in the guest list). Drag a table on the room plan, or select it and use the arrow keys.
- Choose Create document, check any table flagged as over capacity and the unassigned count, then download the PDF or a PNG of each page.
Example
A reunion dinner on A4: a 10.5 × 8 m room at 1:75 with two round tables of 8, a head table of 6 and a kids' table of 4, 16 of 18 guests seated (Unassigned: 2), then a two-column alphabetical poster and a list by table.
What it does not do
- Tables are round, long or square and cannot be rotated. Their size follows the number of seats (about 0.6 m of edge per guest).
- Positions are in metres from the room's top-left corner; the room is a rectangle in millimetres.
- Seating requests (keep together, keep apart) are checked and reported, not solved automatically.
- PDF, PNG and project file only.
- Up to 250 pages and 500 entries in any list.
Documents are made in your browser and are not uploaded or stored by Zerdly. Check the finished document before you use it.
