Tournament Fixture Book Builder

Enter the teams, the format, the venues with their hours, the first day and how long each match and break lasts. The builder pairs the teams, gives byes fairly, and places every match at a venue and time where neither team is already playing and the venue is free.

Round robin plays every pair once (n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 matches), or twice home and away. With an odd number of teams each team has exactly one bye per cycle. A knockout follows standard seeding, with first-round byes to the top seeds when the team count is not a power of two.

How to use the Tournament Fixture Book Builder

  1. Choose a template: the compact fixture book, a version with a notes column and lines, or the fixture list followed by a score sheet for every match.
  2. Name the tournament, add the teams in seed order, and choose round robin, home-and-away round robin or knockout.
  3. Add venues with their opening and closing times, or leave them out to use one venue open for the day's hours.
  4. Set the first day, how many days you have, the match length and the break between matches.
  5. Choose Create document. If the matches do not fit, the message says how many are left over; add a day or a venue. Then download the PDF or the CSV.

Example

A junior cup for seven teams over two days on two fields: 21 round-robin matches of 40 minutes with 10-minute breaks, every team with one bye, fixtures listed by day with empty score boxes, and a blank standings table.

What it does not do

  • No competition, league or club logo is included or offered; the tournament name is plain text.
  • Results are filled in by hand. The builder does not record scores or work out standings.
  • Teams play in the order the pairings come out; there is no manual fixture editing.
  • Up to 250 pages and 500 entries in any list.
