Training Diary Builder

Choose a start date, an effort scale and metric or imperial units, then log sessions: the date, what you did, how long it took and how hard it felt. Add results such as a distance, a time or a weight, each with its unit. The diary prints week by week with a summary and a reflection for each week, then every result grouped by measure so you can see progress.

Nothing is filled in for you. A result with no value prints as Not recorded, never as 0, and weekly totals say how many sessions they cover. With no sessions the diary prints blank weeks to write in.

How to use the Training Diary Builder

  1. Choose a template: a table per week, an entry per session with ruled lines, or each week on its own pages with a box per day.
  2. Set the start date, the number of weeks, the effort scale and the units.
  3. Add sessions. Effort is optional and must be on the scale you chose; leave it empty if you did not rate the session.
  4. Add results and pick the session each belongs to. Leave the value empty if you did not measure it.
  5. Write a reflection for any week, and overall reflections if you like. Then Create document and download the PDF or CSV.

Example

A two-week 10 km block from Monday 4 January 2027: easy runs, intervals, a strength session, a long run and a 5 km time trial, effort on a 1 to 10 scale, distances in km, one tempo run whose distance was not recorded, and a reflection for week one.

What it does not do

  • This is a personal record. It does not assess health or fitness and is not a certificate of any kind.
  • Effort is how hard a session felt to you; the builder does not calculate it.
  • Up to 52 weeks in one diary.
  • Up to 250 pages and 500 entries in any list.
