How to use this calculator
- Open your GIS layer's attribute table next to this checklist.
- Tick each item once you've confirmed it — structure, values, then quality.
- Watch the completeness percentage and clear the outstanding list before you export.
How it works
A complete attribute table has a unique ID on every feature, all required fields present and correctly typed, no blanks or placeholders in required fields, and no duplicate records.
Running the checks before export saves re-issuing data — most spatial errors are attribute errors, not geometry.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a placeholder value?
Anything that stands in for real data — 0, -9999, “TBC”, “xxx”, or a copied row never edited. They pass a not-null check but are still wrong.
Is this official course material?
No. It is free study support mapped to surveying course levels — not official North Metropolitan TAFE content or advice. Always follow your lecturer and the official assessment brief, and check your own working.
