Field log (CSV)
How to use this calculator
- Fill in the field-book header — date, operator, instrument, station and instrument height.
- Add a row per observation (target, horizontal angle, vertical angle, distance, remark).
- Copy or download the log as CSV for your records or import.
How it works
A clean, complete field book is the permanent record of a survey. This log keeps the header detail with the observations so nothing is separated or lost.
It stores your entries exactly as typed and exports them as CSV, so you can keep evidence or import the angles and distances elsewhere.
Frequently asked questions
Does it reduce the observations?
No — it's a booking/recording tool. Use the traverse, levelling and coordinate calculators on Zerdly to reduce the angles and distances once they're booked.
Is this official course material?
No. It is free study support mapped to surveying course levels — not official North Metropolitan TAFE content or advice. Always follow your lecturer and the official assessment brief, and check your own working.
