How to use this calculator
- Paste your set-out point file — one point per line as ID, Easting, Northing and (optionally) RL.
- Read the verdict: ready to upload, or the list of rows to fix.
- Fix any flagged rows in your source file and re-check.
How it works
It checks the things that break a controller upload: a point with no ID, a coordinate that isn't a number, and duplicate point IDs.
A missing RL is only a warning — that's fine for 2D set-out. Everything stays in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
What separators does it accept?
Comma, tab or spaces. A header row (where the second column isn't a number) is detected and skipped.
Is this official course material?
No. It is free study support mapped to surveying course levels — not official North Metropolitan TAFE content or advice. Always follow your lecturer and the official assessment brief, and check your own working.
