How to use this calculator
- Check the title block, layers, survey content and issue status of a mine drawing.
- Tick each item and watch the completeness and outstanding list.
- Clear everything before the drawing is released.
How it works
Mine drawings are controlled documents: the title block must carry the drawing number, revision, scale and the surveyor/checker/approver, and the layers and symbology must follow the mine's standard.
This is a study/QA aid only — always follow your mine's drawing standard and management-of-change process.
Worked example
Releasing a mine plan. The title block is complete with drawing number, revision and approver; layers and symbology match the standard; the datum/projection and grid are shown; and the revision register is updated.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the revision register so important on mine drawings?
Mine drawings are controlled documents — the register provides the audit trail of who changed what and when, and ensures superseded sheets are withdrawn so no one works from an old plan.
Is this official course material?
No. It is free study support mapped to surveying course levels — not official North Metropolitan TAFE content or advice. Always follow your lecturer and the official assessment brief, and check your own working.
