How it works
Hand-typed notes rarely line up. The formatter splits each row into columns, measures the widest entry in each, and pads every cell so the columns align in a fixed-width sheet that's easy to read and check.
Blank rows are dropped and ragged rows are padded, so the result is consistent.
Worked example
Ragged notes in. Rows like “A,1.502,,,BM” and “BB,3,longer remark” come out with the station, readings and remarks lined up under even columns.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the CSV cleaner?
No — the cleaner removes blanks/duplicates and outputs CSV for import; this aligns the columns into a human-readable booking sheet for printing or handover.
